Case: Insurance Bad Faith

Plaintiff, a physician, alleged that the disability income insurance carrier acted in bad faith when they violated certain provisions of the Kentucky Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act. Specifically, it was alleged that the insurance carrier failed to properly investigate and evaluate Plaintiff physician's physical injuries leading to Plaintiff physician's occupational specialty disability. This case was settled with the agreement to pay benefits in the amount of $15,000 a month to the physician with additional payment of $250,000 in settlement of the bad faith claims.
